Parents and Citizens Print E-mail

Belgian Gardens State School is assisted by a keen and energetic Parents and Citizens Association. The Association provides a forum for parents to make informed contribution and to make decisions on issues that affect our children.

At various times throughout the year guest speakers are invited to attend the meetings. The P & C Committee meetings are held at the school on the fourth Wednesday of every month commencing at 7:30pm.

The P & C contributes to the school in a range of positive ways as well as fundraising for minor and major projects. Some of the projects include:

  • Provide new playground equipment for both junior and senior play areas.
  • Fundraising for major school projects including air-conditioning, classroom computers, landscaping and additional infrastructure for the school
  • Shade structures and seating throughout the grounds
  • Lobbying government representatives for a range of issues, eg additional funding for Belgian Gardens School for capital works
  • Provide annual funding for selected ‘Key Learning Area’, eg. Maths
  • Sharing ideas with teachers and school administration in relation to educational concerns and future directions of the school.

The P & C Contact for 2008 is:
Mr David Porter
Phone: 4774 1375
